Elderly NZ couple play dodge'm cars
A 100-year-old New Zealand man and his 99-year-old wife have had a lucky escape after driving the wrong way along a highway near Wellington.
Police say the mature duo was travelling through Ngauranga Gorge, just north of Wellington around 9:00pm yesterday (local time).
The driver accidentally turned north into a southbound lane and was able to dodge oncoming traffic for about two kilometres before colliding with another car.
The elderly couple suffered minor injuries.
It is not known whether the man or woman was behind the wheel, but a spokesman for Wellington police says it is unlikely the driver will face charges because of their age.
The spokesman says it is highly likely the couple will not be allowed to drive again.
100 and 99 years of age! Do you think they ever look at each other and think when are you going to die so I can have some peace and time to myself? Or is that only me?

A friend's mother had a driving test when she was 80 to make sure she was safe enough to keep her license. She lost it because she went around a corner too fast!!! (Most of the time we complain about them tottering along!) She went back 6 months later, got a different tester, she says drove exactly the same and got her licence reinstated.
We got Grandpa on paternal side to give up his license after he collected our children from school and they reported they he spent most of the trip on the wrong side of the road.....they also reported that he took a route of only left turns so that he didn't have to make a right hand turn across traffic. My heart was in my mouth after that....
With my Dad we actually took a part out of the car to render it undriveable until we could see the car as he developed dementia.
I am going to get a "Driver" and be Miss Daisy driven in style everywhere!
