rushing in the New Year

Happy New Year to you and yours too, FD. Hope 2009 brings better news for you job wise. And whatever happens, please keep that wicked sense of humour that gives a healthy "up yours" to an uncaring world.
Happy New Year to you too Mrs FD. Hope you manage to stay awake for Kiwi time.
I saw the celebration in Sydney on the television this morning. It looked spectacular. I doubt I will make it til midnight my time either.
Happy New Year! Here's to a 2009 full of joy and peace and lots of exciting adventures:)
Cheers, Shelagh xo
I have a hard time going to bed before midnight on work nights. Happy New Year!
The boot pics were interesting - such colorful boots...people couldn't help but smile when you walked in somewhere. I will got to sleep early tonight, secure in the knowledge that somewhere it is midnight. hehehe
Happy New Year to you and your family. Waiting to hear of all the fun and exciting things 2009 has in store for you.
LOL - I doubt I will be up for our midnight but I did see yours in (online). It is very strange to get text messages from Australia so many hours ahead of when the calendar turns here. What's 2009 looking like?
lol. i know a number of people who if they make it to midnight really have to push it! they will want to be joining you in that early celebration!
I had the exact same idea. I suggested to everyone that we should have a new years lunch party this year so I could still get to bed at a reasonable hour. They wouldn't go for it though.

happy new year

I've already told Mr FD where to go, twice this morning, does that count? Happy New Year, to you and Mrs Snowy too. May we live in interesting times?

I made it to 12.15 our time...I am so proud! Happy New Year!
Sydney always shows off - they have the bridge of course! Due to daylight saving time, and the fact that our state doesn't adopt it, we get a delayed telecast of the Sydney fireworks. Not quite the same when you know it is delayed...
Yes some nice adventure, of the positive kind would be great. Happy new year!
Well, I hope that you had an enjoyable start to 2009 - Happy New Year!
How true - the new year starts whether we are conscious or not! Who started this crazy tradition and can I still hit them with a stick?
I have no doubt that life will only get crazier before it gets back to any kind of normality! Happy New Year!
Bloody hot! But I feel an air of excitement...or is it just me?

Every year we have the same discussion about how time is an artificial construct and that the time could be anything we wanted really...but we still feel like we have to mark it somehow...almost as if we will jinx ourtselves if we don't stay up...not working for us so far!

Once we actually threw New Year's Eve parties...I must have been mad, or had more energy back then! Happy New Year!
[this is good]
.. let's try to surpass recent standards huh?

Amen, and a Happy New Year to you.
