this is not a toilet joke...
I am obviously in the eye of the toilet gods this week. Went back to visit said toilet and found the seat covered in ants! This is a second floor toilet, people. Now I know how you get ants in your pants! Bit perplpexed as to how rid the toilet of the ants. I contemplated spraying it with surface spray but realised that being a service spray that the next surface on that seat would be my sweet little bottom, and so dismissed that idea. In the end settled for brushing all the ants into the bowl and flushing them away. Hopefully that will solve the problem.
My sister had her own run in with a toilet last night. We got about 160 mls of rain in about 5 hours last night = 640 pts I think so just under 6 1/2 inches of rain. (and possibly the reason why the ants were up on our second floor!) My sister lives in a country town about an hour from Brisbane. The storm water couldn't escape fast enough from their street and all the houses on the other side of their street got flooded with storm water and sewerage. Sister did not get flooded, thank heavens, but the sewerage started to bubble up in their toilets and in the bathroom floor drain. Sister said everything happened so fast that they didn't have time to help anyone and the feeling of helpless was overpowering. The sun is radiant this morning but I think more rain is expected tonight.
Daughter 1's car was parked outside and she found an inch of water on her front seat this morning, so she has taken my car to work today and left hers to dry out at home. Just after she purchased the car she was hit by a stolen car trying to escape a police chase and though the car was repaired it leaks somewhere on the front passenger side and no amount of investigation discovers where the water enters. I guess we could have gone out and sat in it during the storm last night to discover the entry point - but one doesn't think that is such a great idea when the storm event is happening.
Back to my horizontal world.
